Types of Applicants
- Initial - Initial applicants are students who are currently outside the U.S. and are seeking to apply for an F-1 student visa at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate to study in the U.S. at AAE. Please note that the ICE guidance on COVID-19 states that students who entered the U.S. or will enter the U.S. after March 9, 2020 cannot enroll in a full course of study that is 100% online. However, since we offer hybrid classes, a combination of online and in-person classes, initial students are eligible to obtain a student visa to study at AAE.
- Transfer - Transfer applicants are students who are currently attending another school in the U.S. Current ICE guidance allow fully online enrollment for students who were in the U.S. as of March 9, 2020 and continue to remain in the U.S. for transfer to and study in AAE's online courses.
- Change of Status - Change of Status applicants are students who are currently in the U.S. on another status (B1, B2, J1, etc.) and seek to change to student status to remain in the U.S. to attend AAE. Our hybrid classes are offered for students seeking to change to student status.
