Intensive ESL for Academic Purposes
The Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) for Academic Purposes (ESL 700) Course is designed to help you master the skills required to perform and succeed in an English-speaking academic setting such as a U.S. college or university. This advanced integrated or mixed-skills course is a part of our College Pathway program created for students seeking admission to our partner U.S. colleges and universities and beyond.
A mixed skills course for students intending to transfer to higher education. Listening/speaking focuses on preparing students for comprehending authentic lectures. Vocabulary building focuses on expansion of academic vocabulary. Reading develops critical thinking skills. Writing works on expository essays. Grammar work provides a review of essential grammar.
The ESL 700 course is a part of our College Pathway program for students seeking admission to our partner schools as an alternative to taking any standardized English proficiency exams such as the TOEFL and IELTS. Learn more at our College Pathway page.
